Oregon Tourism & Hospitality Industry Consortium

Tourism is a $8.3 billion industry for Oregon and directly employs over 91,000 Oregonians. Yet the broader hospitality industry, to which tourism is intricately linked, is even billions of dollars larger and employs tens of thousands of additional Oregonians. To fully grasp the potential of tourism in Oregon, we must recognize that it is intertwined in the much larger and exponentially more important Tourism and Hospitality Industry.

Oregon’s Tourism & Hospitality Industry must be united by a common purpose and focused on broader strategic economic outcomes for both the industry and for the state. This shared point of view will encourage more meaningful and productive dialogue with policymakers and business and industry leaders throughout Oregon.

By unifying as the Tourism and Hospitality Industry we will generate unprecedented momentum, a shared leadership philosophy and a fundamental belief that what is good for our industry is good for Oregon.  As a result, we will galvanize our influence and, therefore, be in a position to own a greater, more visible and valued role in shaping the future of our state.

Currently, Travel Oregon is helping to facilitate meetings of the Tourism and Hospitality Consortium Steering Committee. The Committee is made up of representatives from both public and private entities and meets on a quarterly basis to discuss issues impacting tourism, hospitality and other related interests throughout Oregon
