New Visitor Research

Travel Oregon has released the Longwoods Visitor Profile Study for 2015.

The study provides estimates of visitors’ activities, regional visitation totals, as well as a demographic profile of visitors.

A new question in this year’s report asked, “How long before you took your Oregon trip did you start planning it?” More than 30 percent of respondents took a month or less to plan their trips to Oregon.

Outdoor experiences remain a primary driver of visitation with 23 percent of overnight visitors indicating the outdoors was a primary reason for visiting. This percentage is significantly higher than the national average of 13 percent.
