Oregon Visitor Information Training Set for May 9-10 in Salem

Are you a front line staff member or volunteer working directly with the public? Do you know someone who would benefit from learning about new attractions, activities and events around the state? If so, it’s not too late to register for the Oregon Visitor Information Training events in Salem on May 9-10, 2017.

Travel Oregon has partnered with Travel Salem to offer Oregon front line visitor information staff the opportunity to learn more about the Salem area in an all-day familiarization (FAM) tour on Tuesday, May 9. Come explore the wonders of the mid-Willamette Valley in the company of professional historian John Ritter, as he shares insights and stories on the town’s rich culture and heritage.

In addition to the FAM tour, Travel Oregon will hold a Visitor Information Network meeting the morning of Wednesday, May 10 at the Salem Convention Center. This “beginning of the season” meeting is invaluable to staff and volunteers working in a front line capacity at a welcome/visitor center or other visitor information type business or organization.

You’ll learn about new attractions, activities and events around the state and get updates on important visitor information directly from organizations such as Oregon State Parks, Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, Travel Oregon and more.

Learn more and register online by 5 p.m. on Friday, May 5.
