2022 Oregon Governor’s Conference COVID-19 FAQs
Health and Safety Requirements Related to COVID-19
Why is Travel Oregon requiring me to be fully vaccinated to attend ORGC?
Being fully vaccinated helps provide the safest environment possible for all of us — conference attendees, Travel Oregon staff and staff of Sunriver Resort.
If you are not fully vaccinated against COVID-19, you will be required to present a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 72 hours of check in.
We are excited to welcome you in person to the Oregon Governor’s Conference on Tourism, but if you are unable to meet one of these requirements, there will be opportunities to view content virtually or access recordings of sessions after the conference.
Will you accept at-home test results?
At this point, we cannot accept at-home test results. You must show proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test or rapid antigen test administered by a health professional.
I’ve had my first shot, does this count?
If you are not fully vaccinated, you will need to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test upon arrival.
Persons are considered fully vaccinated:
- Two weeks (14 days) after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccines, or
- Two weeks (14 days) after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine.
If you don’t meet these requirements, you are NOT fully vaccinated.
Do I need to be boosted?
Although highly recommended, booster shots are not currently required to be fully vaccinated.
How will Travel Oregon verify my vaccination status and/or negative test?
Option 1: Attendees can download the free CLEAR app to their smartphone and enter their vaccine details OR negative COVID-19 PCR test results. Information will be verified by CLEAR, after verification a QR code is produced, and a digital vaccine card is created. Upon arrival at the Governor’s Conference in Sunriver, attendees will present the QR code to event staff to check in and receive their name badge.
Attendees will be notified via email of the specific upload process.
Option 2: Upon arrival at the Governor’s Conference in Sunriver, attendees must present their CDC vaccine card along with a government issued photo ID OR negative COVID-19 PCR test results to event staff to check in and receive their name badge.
What about breakthrough infections? Vaccinated people can get COVID-19, so why isn’t everyone required to present a negative test?
Current Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidance states that event organizers may exempt fully vaccinated attendees and staff from this screening testing requirement, as the risk of fully vaccinated individuals being infected is significantly reduced. If CDC/state guidance changes we may consider testing everyone, and/or conducting health checks, such as temperature screening or checking symptoms of staff and attendees safely and respectfully, in accordance with any applicable privacy laws and regulations.
Where can I get tested?
Go to Oregon Health Authority’s COVID-19 Test Site Finder or call 211. The test site locator is available in both English and Spanish and can be searched in multiple other languages.
What if my test is positive? Will I get a refund?
Yes. If you cannot attend the conference due to a positive COVID-19 case, Travel Oregon will refund your registration fee. Please email events@traveloregon.com if this occurs.
