State of Oregon COVID-19 Business Impact Survey
Travel Oregon, in partnership with Business Oregon and Small Business Development Centers, would like to help assess how COVID-19 is impacting businesses. Responses to this survey are confidential and will not be shared publicly, only aggregate information will be shared.
We are requesting impact information from tourism businesses specifically to capture estimated revenue impacts as well as information around canceled events, employee impacts and more. The intention of this short survey is to serve the needs of businesses impacted by COVID-19. Information gathered by this survey will be vital to policymakers who are working to provide assistance to businesses during this crisis.
Access the survey here. The survey will remain open through April 15.
The CARES Act, the largest economic relief package in U.S. history, was recently passed and provides multiple resources for economic support for the tourism industry. U.S. Travel has compiled guidance on what the different parts of the CARES Act means for you and your business. They also provide clear guidance on eligibility around available resources.
Many of these resources are time sensitive so please be sure to redistribute this content to your partners, read through the materials and if applicable apply for the programs your business needs as soon as possible. For example, the Payroll Protection Loan application opens April 3 and the SBA advises that all businesses should “apply as quickly as you can because there is a funding cap.”
In order to help share information around how COVID-19 is impacting the travel industry, Travel Oregon’s research team is compiling state and national data on a weekly basis to share with external partners. Information provided will include, but is not limited to:
- Weekly Smith Travel Research (STR) reports with year over year changes in Average Daily Rate (ADR), Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR), and Occupancy
- Portland International Airport Daily Passenger Throughput
- Sparkloft MEDIA social media sentiment findings
- Third party research such as Destination Analyst’s findings about Coronavirus’ Impact on American Travel behavior, etc.
