Destination Capitol Hill Recap

Destination Capitol Hill took place April 10-11 and was attended by Travel Oregon, Travel Portland, Travel Lane County, Oregon Destination Marketing Organization, Travel Southern Oregon and Oregon Tourism Commissioners. The Oregon delegation met with all Oregon congressmen or their staff.

 The agenda was made up of the following requests:

  • Support the reauthorization of Brand USA
  • Support the renaming of the Visa Waiver Program to the Secure Travel Partnerships Program and expand the program to include additional countries (Poland, Israel, Brazil, etc.)
  • Updates on the wildfire study work being led by Travel Southern Oregon and Travel Oregon
  • Support infrastructure packages that include funding and metrics that prioritize moving people instead of moving freight
