New Recreation Permits and Changes to Fees in 2020

January 30, 2020

Beginning this year, there will be six new permits and fee increases across the state for recreational activities. As of Jan. 1, anyone operating a non-motorized boat more than 10-feet long in any boatable waterway must purchase a $5 per week waterway access permit. The permit is also available for $17 annually or $30 every two years. Permits are issued through the Oregon Marine Board.

The U.S. Forest Service is rolling out a Central Cascades Wilderness Permits system in 2020 to limit entry to Three Sisters, Mount Jefferson and Mount Washington wilderness areas. Details are still being released and more information can be found on the U.S. Forest Service website.

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife has also released new license, tag and permit fee information for 2020 on their website.
