Oregon Tourism and Hospitality Industry Consortium
Tourism in Oregon is a $11.3 billion industry and directly generates more than 109,000 jobs in Oregon. In addition, the broader hospitality industry, to which tourism is intricately linked, is billions of dollars larger and employs tens of thousands of additional Oregonians. To fully realize the potential of tourism in Oregon, we must understand and utilize the industry’s role in the much larger and exponentially more important Tourism and Hospitality Industry.
The Oregon Tourism and Hospitality Consortium is an affiliation of industry professionals working to promote awareness and take action for the benefit of the entire industry.
The centerpiece for the Consortium’s focus is the Statewide Industry Action Plan. The plan was produced as an action item in Travel Oregon’s 2013-2015 strategic plan—with the goal of tapping into a wide range of perspectives from the many professionals and associations that support Oregon’s travel and hospitality economy. The action plan was distilled from conversations with industry groups including arts and culture, wineries, lodging and restaurants, guides and packers, and destination management organizations.
The action plan recognizes that people have different priorities and different opportunities to contribute. It will be the Consortium’s job to organize these efforts to build momentum in some of the most challenging areas facing Oregon’s tourism industry.
A critical piece of the Consortium’s strategy is to get feedback from you. Below is a survey that connects you with the vital issues that were identified in the Industry Action Plan. These issues were established as the most significant to focus on as a result of meetings with key industry segment groups over the course of the last year. If you haven’t already, please invest a couple of minutes of your time to complete the survey and help us be more effective as we work to strengthen Oregon’s tourism industry throughout the state.

The Consortium steering committee is made up of representatives from both public and private entities and meets on a quarterly basis to discuss impacts on tourism, hospitality and other related interests throughout Oregon. Getting involved with the Consortium is as simple as saying “How can I help?”
