In 2012, based on strategic direction from the Oregon Bicycle Tourism Partnership, Travel Oregon embarked on an extensive study of the economic impact of bike travel in Oregon. We commissioned Dean Runyan Associates to conduct the research, which included input from more than 4,000 people who bicycled in Oregon in nearly every discipline of bicycling. The Bicycle Travel Studywas released in 2013 and is available here.

Travel Oregon received a research grant from Bikes Belong and Cycle Oregon to conduct a complementary study on the economic impact of bicycle manufacturing and retail business in Oregon. Results of this study were released in 2014 and is available here.

You can view other research about bike travel that we have gathered in Cycling Research.
