Insights & Impact
Insights & Impact acts as a trusted resource for the agency to drive strategy and effectiveness, align communications, strengthen industry relationships and champion the positive impact of tourism in Oregon.
This department combines the critical functions of public affairs, industry relations, communications, portfolio management and strategy, research & analytics. Collaborating across the industry, Insights & Impact works in service to the agency’s strategic priorities and measures progress in relation to the key performance indicators outlined in the 10-Year Strategic Vision.
• In service to the agency, leads the critical functions of communications, industry relations, public affairs, portfolio management and strategy, research and analytics.
• Works across departments and in partnership with executive team to measure progress toward the agency’s strategic vision through key performance indicators that ensure agency-wide collaboration and alignment.
• Develops and maintains industry partnerships in support of the agency and Oregon’s tourism industry.
Favorite Oregon Activity: Spending time at the coast and wine tasting
• Manages and maintains Travel Oregon’s portfolio & project management platforms and processes.
• Drives planning and execution of Quarterly Business Reviews for the agency.
• Manages agency workload and capacity framework including forecasting needs and developing reporting.
Favorite Oregon Activity: Hiking through Oregon forests to soak in natural hot springs.
• Provides administrative support to VP of Insights & Impact.
• Coordinates departmental events, meetings and administrative needs.
• Serves as additional support for special projects across Insights & Impact team.

Industry Relations
• Leads Travel Oregon’s integrated partnership strategy and oversee the execution of partnerships and sponsorships.
• Leads Travel Oregon’s collaboration with Oregon’s economic development infrastructure.
Favorite Oregon Activity: Riding the tram to the top of Mt. Howard at Wallowa Lake
• Leads development and planning of the Oregon Governor's Conference on Tourism.
• Manages the agency's educational and training opportunities.
• Designs workforce development programs that align with regional priorities.
Favorite Oregon Activity: Mountain biking through the Ponderosa pines in Central Oregon.
• Supports Travel Oregon's integrated partnership strategy and assists with the execution of strategic partnerships and sponsorships.
• Coordinates and monitors Industry Relations projects to ensure compliance with program criteria, relevant laws and policies, while aligning with organizational goals and objectives.
• Assists in the development, planning and execution of training opportunities, conferences, and other community engagement and educational events.
Favorite Oregon Activity: Spending time at the mountain or off grid somewhere along the McKenzie.
Public Affairs
• Lead and manage Travel Oregon’s industry policy development through collaborative industry and agency partnerships.
• Develop and direct engagement strategies with Federal, State, and local policymakers.
• Amplify awareness of tourism and its economic impact throughout the state via development and delivery of key industry messages.
Favorite Oregon Activity: Skiing in the Central Cascades in the winter, exploring our local gardens and flower farms in the summer.
Research
• Facilitates agency strategy by managing development and implementation of the agency’s strategic plan and leading research and business analytics strategies that inform priorities and track progress.
• Works across the agency to set the overall strategy for research and data, including identifying approaches for research and data insights to shape organizational strategy and priorities.
• Manages, monitors and reports on key performance indicators that track progress on the strategic plan and other agency priorities.
Favorite Oregon Activity: I love spending hours in the mountains exploring Oregon’s incredible singletrack trails.
• Oversees the Analytics/Business Intelligence (BI) program strategic direction from planning to development to execution to evaluation.
• Oversees the building of reports and dashboards for internal and external stakeholders, including departmental dashboards, that inform both broad strategies and functional tactics.
• Collaborates across the agency to develop key performance indicators (KPIs) and analysis of reports and dashboards to ensure accurate reporting and actionable conclusions.
• Develops and implement program reporting strategies that convey alignment and linkages to broader strategic goals and priorities.
Favorite Oregon Activity: Spending sunny days at Hood River and scenic drive through Columbia Gorge!
• Acts as the primary support for Travel Oregon’s research function.
• Assists in the execution and publication of the research studies conducted either in-house or through contractors.
• The outcome of these studies translate into decisions and tactics that align with the agency’s strategic plan and goals.
Favorite Oregon Activity: Mountain biking at Black Rock or any of the trail systems in Oregon.
• Serves as the initial point of contact and monitors the research inquiries.
• Provides project coordination of research studies/assignments.
• Creates a variety of reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders as needed.
Favorite Oregon Activity: Going on a chilly hike with a view of Mt. Hood then warming up at a hot springs.
Communications
• Leads Travel Oregon’s Communications team and strategies in an effort to position Oregon as a premier travel destination.
• Works in close partnership with Brand and Destination Stewardship teams as well as Industry Relations, Research and Analytics to ensure Communications strategies and priorities align with and support Travel Oregon’s strategic goals.
• Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to create innovative communication strategies for projects and opportunities.
Favorite Oregon Activity: Spending warm summer days on a cool river and soaking in all that is the Oregon Coast!
• Leads efforts in industry media relations to raise awareness of the value of tourism for Oregon’s economy, communities and environment.
• Develops and executes the annual industry communications plan.
• Writes and edits a wide range of documents, talking points, press releases; serves as spokesperson for Travel Oregon.
• Acts as backup for consumer communications PR inquiries.
Favorite Oregon Activity: Exploring the coast, hiking or running old-growth trails, biking around Portland and sipping Oregon wine.
• Leads efforts in consumer media relations to inspire overnight travel to Oregon's seven tourism regions.
• Develops and executes the annual consumer communications plan.
• Leads internal cross-collaboration work to help elevate consumer campaigns and special projects; serves as spokesperson for Travel Oregon.
• Acts as backup for industry communications PR inquiries.
Favorite Oregon Activity: Enjoying live music at the many unique venues across the state.
• Oversees the industry site.
• Composes and edits all industry-facing newsletters.
• Maintains and updates the internal communications content calendar.
