Oregon Food Trails Application
A collection of communities that comprise a destination interested in developing a food trail in the Oregon Food Trails program must complete an Oregon Food Trails Program Engagement Application.
Communities actively participating in an Oregon Tourism Studio with an agritourism focus, or communities that have completed a culinary and agritourism module within the last two years.
- A community preparing for or currently participating in an Oregon Tourism Studio program (either a Rural Tourism Studio, Destination Management Studio, or a Tourism Experience Studio) with a culinary and agritourism component, may choose to form an action team to develop a food trail. In order to take part in our Oregon Food Trails program, the action team needs to submit an application to the program after the conclusion of the studio.
Communities that have completed an Oregon Tourism Studio with a culinary and agritourism module more than two years ago, or without a Culinary and Agritourism module.
- A community that has completed an Oregon Tourism Studio culinary and agritourism module and is ready to move onto developing a food trail must complete an Oregon Food Trails Program Engagement Application. Communities that have completed an Oregon Tourism Studio without a culinary and agritourism component, can still be prioritized if they are able to demonstrate leadership capacity in the region and past success with implementing projects through action teams, although they will be required to form an action team and build agreement among that action team that a food trail is the desired course of action. For both of these community types, a Food Trail Development Workshop will be required.
Communities that have not participated in an Oregon Tourism Studio.
- Communities that have not participated in the Oregon Tourism Studio program are encouraged to apply for a Culinary & Agritourism Experience Studio with a focus on developing an Oregon Food Trail. If your community falls in this area, please share your interest with us by emailing Development@TravelOregon.com.
Expectations for Participation:
A food trail takes between six to 12 months to develop, depending on the scope and size of the trail and requires a multi-year commitment following the initial development. The table below provides an overview of the expected timeline and action items the action team or community lead and Travel Oregon are each responsible for.
