  • Local Transient Lodging Tax Survey:  2008, ECONorthwest 

    Description:
    Cities and counties are permitted by the State of Oregon to charge a transient lodging tax (TLT) for temporary lodging at hotels, motels, campgrounds, and other temporary lodgings. The purpose of the survey is to identify local TLT collections by jurisdiction, better understand how local governments use transient lodging tax revenues and the impact that the 2003 legislation (codified in ORS 320.300 to 320.350) has had on transient lodging tax rates, revenues, and expenditures.

  • Oregon Overnight Travel Study 2007, Longwoods International

    Description:The purpose of the study was to research the size and structure of the overnight visitor market for Oregon during the 2006 travel year. The report includes: an overview of the U.S. overnight travel market; estimates of overnight visitor volumes to Oregon; Oregon’s key sources of business; the Oregon traveler profile; trip characteristics; Oregon’s product delivery in terms of over 80 destination attributes; a variety of trended information on visitor demographics and trip characteristics.

  • Oregon Travel Impacts:  State, Regional, and County Detail Estimates: 1991 - 2008p, Dean Runyan Associates

    Description:The purpose of the study is to document the economic significance of the travel industry in Oregon. The report describes the economic impacts of travel to and through the state and each of its 36 counties over the time period of 1991 to 2008, and includes detailed estimates of travel spending, the employment and earnings generated by this spending, and travel-generated tax receipts. A primary objective of the research is to provide reliable detailed figures that permit year-to-year comparisons at the state and county levels. 

  • Fishing, Hunting, Wildlife Viewing, and Shellfishing in Oregon:   May 2009, Dean Runyan Associates
    Description:The study - a comprehensive effort by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW) and Travel Oregon - describes hunting, fishing, wildlife viewing, and shellfish harvest participation and related expenditures made throughout Oregon and the state's travel regions and counties.

    Description:The purpose of the study is to: Determine Oregon’s image as a tourism destination; Evaluate the state’s 2004 tourism advertising campaigns in terms of 1) Short of Sales Measures (Recall and Impact of the advertising on image); 2) Bottom Line Measures (Impact of the advertising on travel to Oregon and the incremental visitor spending and taxes generated).
