Tour Operators, Guides and Outfitters
Travel Oregon’s work in Destination Development has supported the creation of world-class adventure travel and outdoor recreation assets throughout the state.
While many U.S. destinations scramble to adapt to changing travel trends, Oregon’s continued leadership and hard work today will set the stage in meeting the needs of the traveler over the next decades.
There is still work to do to inspire and support travel companies on the leading edge of meeting the demands of the modern traveler. A vibrant travel destination needs to be coupled with new and creative energy, keeping the industry fresh and innovative, and ensuring that existing businesses stay connected to current trends and resources.
In 2015, Travel Oregon designed a two-day training intended for Oregon guides, outfitters, operators, entrepreneurs and tourism businesses looking to develop or expand upon their outdoor recreation tour product. The program lays a foundation for participants on how to attract high-value and international travelers, connect with Travel Oregon marketing and sales resources, navigate permitting, and set-up successful operations.
Since 2015, Travel Oregon has hosted five trainings in locations throughout Oregon, and will continue to hold trainings based on destination demand. If you are interested in bringing a training to your region, please contact development@traveloregon.com.
