Digital Accessibility Consultation
Are you seeking assistance to support your destination in creating welcoming and accessible digital experiences for travelers with disabilities? We are happy to provide you with resources and best practices for approaching digital accessibility work, assessments, and how to understand and go beyond WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) compliance.
We have partnered with Jen Macias De La Parra, an Accessibility Specialist and founder of De La Práctica, an experience design consultancy advancing accessible travel and tourism across Oregon, to consult with you directly, at no cost, to discuss your destination’s digital touchpoints and support you with a list of strategies, resources, relevant examples, and potential partnerships to explore.
For background information on the WCAG compliance standards and for training recordings and presentations by Jen, see our Accessible Websites for Tourism webpage.
Program note: Jen will be traveling for accessibility work throughout October, and the Ask an Expert program will pause new consultations during that time as we work on improvements based on what we learned in year one. The program resumes in November.
Here’s what to expect once you complete the form below:
- Jen will reach out to schedule a one-on-one consultation, by Zoom or another platform that works for you.
- During your first consultation (up to one hour), she’ll discuss your specific needs, answer questions, and provide recommendations for your websites, mobile apps, social media content, digital marketing materials, and online booking systems.
- Afterward, she’ll send a follow-up email with notes from your consultation and next steps based on what would help most, whether that’s resource links, a deeper evaluation, another consultation, or dedicated project support.
