Bicycle Ambassador Program
Travel Oregon is committed to working with bicycle tourism advocates across the state to develop and promote the best bicycle tourism opportunities Oregon has to offer.
This is why Travel Oregon partnered with Ride With GPS to create a way for bicycle tourism advocates to curate bicycle routes on TravelOregon.com/Bicycling.
TravelOregon.com/Bicycling offers inspirational route descriptions, trailhead information, mileage and elevation profiles and local business services for road riding, gravel riding, mountain biking and fat biking for riders of all skill levels. More than 75 unique bicycle routes are currently available, routes chosen for inclusion offer exceptional support, safety and natural beauty.
To continue to grow this bicycle tourism resource in Oregon, Travel Oregon invites local bicycle tourism advocates to submit their ideas for the best bicycle routes in their destination through the Travel Oregon Bicycle Tourism Area Ambassador program.
If Travel Oregon selects a route for inclusion, the next steps include:
- Create a basic account with Ride With GPS and apply to become an Area Ambassador
- Develop the route on Ride With GPS by uploading a GPS file of the route, layering specific points of interest on the route, posting at least three high resolution photos and writing a detailed route description
- Email Travel Oregon to confirm the route is published and submit high resolution photos for the route
Once the route has been published on Ride With GPS, Travel Oregon will work with a travel writer to enhance the narrative description and publish the route on TravelOregon.com/Bicycling.
