Oregon Tourism Information System (OTIS)
OTIS is a database used for sharing and maintaining Oregon's tourism-related listings across many websites.
How do Oregon visitors know about events, attractions, hotels, restaurants, museum exhibits and shops? The best way to get information out to millions of viewers a year is to have a listing in the Oregon Tourism Information System (OTIS), a central database of listings managed by Travel Oregon and destination management organizations (DMOs).
The listings are displayed on Travel Oregon’s website, and also on a number of our tourism partners’ websites, so when an address or date changes, the information is updated across multiple websites.
Listing criteria:
- must be tourism related (This means the attraction, business or event has a visitor experience or would draw visitors. Some examples are tour guides, souvenir shops, annual events, museums, wineries, etc.)
- be located in the state of Oregon
- be open to the public
- have wide enough appeal to attract visitors willing to travel 50 miles or more
- must comply with required licensing and/or taxation laws
How to get started with OTIS
For Destination Management Organizations
Local and regional destination management organizations (DMOs) are eligible for an OTIS user account where they can input listing updates directly into the database. Please register for an OTIS account at https://otis.traveloregon.com. If you want to use OTIS business listings on your website, learn more on our integration page.
For more information, please reach out to OTIS@traveloregon.com, and tell us more about your role and to see if you qualify for an OTIS user account.
For businesses and event planners
Travel Oregon (and our partners!) greatly appreciate getting listing updates from organizations and businesses. You have three options when it comes to getting your information into OTIS:
- Reach out to your local or regional destination marketing organization (DMO)
- Send an email to OTIS@traveloregon.com
- Use the Suggest an Edit button at the bottom of your listing page on TravelOregon.com
For Lodging Properties
We partner with the Oregon Restaurant & Lodging Association (ORLA) to maintain lodging property listings on our website.
Any lodging property in Oregon that pays Oregon’s statewide 1.5% lodging tax is eligible* for a listing on our website and in the printed Travel Oregon visitor guide. Property information must be verified every year with ORLA during their annual outreach period (usually between October and December).
For more information on how to update your listing, visit OregonRLA.org/LodgingListings.
* Please note that due to the volume and transitory nature of vacation rentals, we only allow a limited number of listings for vacation rental management companies, to be determined on a case-by-case basis. Individual rental properties that are not part of a management company may request an individual listing.
